Semi Wreck
Photos of a wreck I came across this morning. One of the emergency vehicles passed me before I got there. Had I been pumping gas two minutes earlier I'd have seen it happen.
Someone was taken away in an ambulence.

Part of the fun of working at a TV station is the commercial shoots. I'm not in productions but often the "extras used are people from around the station." Sometimes they are people off the street.
Today they were doing a shoot for a computer repair shop. The spot features "poor old computers".
Also my legs walking by.

So in honor of the new 24 season, we got this life sized Jack Bauer stand up in at work. They put it in the hall across from the window to behind the racks.
Now everytime I work behind the racks I feel his piercing gaze...

One of the most irritating things about a sattelite office 100 miles away is having to do 3 or 4 jobs on your one a month trip.
Today we set up a Mac edit system and a PC and desk for the new Paid Programming manager.
I also hope to spend a 100 dollar gift certificate for a store located by this office I won at the Christmas party. So it's not a totally irritating trip. Still I hope to be on the road home by 1 or so for an early day in honor of the holidaty.

I remeber a time when Computers didn't have mice. Nor did they have hard drives. Everything was on these huge black floppy disks that contained less than a megabyte of data.
I'm sure some of you can remember worse.

Went on a tour of WCIU's (and others) transmitter while returning a piece of equipment.
Thing is, the transmitter is on floor 102 of the Sears Tower.

Let me tell you, this is pretty much the place to go for electronic parts in Decatur. They supply all the large companies in town too I think.
The area sure feels like going out for some sort of electronic drug fix though.

Until I get a replacement PC, I get to look at this. I suppose I could turn them off but that seems a bit depressing.
