The View From The Top...

I've been working lately on installing an antenna for television and radio at our Decatur office. This involved putting an antenna on the roof of the 9 story OneMain Place building in Decatur and running a coax cable 9 stories down into the office.

Turns out, the pole I mounted the antenna to is only attached to the AC ducts and is not bolted to the roof. I had to lug a pair of cinderblocks up there to provide ballast.

Now I'm sitting on one of the chairs the owner has bolted to the roof taking in the view while my arms try to get over the trip.

Kind of a Jerk

There is one coach at soccer almost everyone can't stand. Seriously, he sounds like a drill sergent when he's screaming at the kids. The problem is that he's yelling at a bunch of 10 year olds.

The problem is, he's head of the league.

Makeshift Raincover...

It started raining halfway through soccer this morning. I used the bag for my chair to make a quick protective cover for my camera. Worked very well actually.

Makeshift Terminal...

Many of the PCs in the racks at work don't have interfaces. This is mostly in the interest of space.

Sometimes, if there is a problem I have to cobble together a monitor, KB and mouse. I wonder if someone has ever thought to do this in a combined portable version. Sort of a laptop with no brain, just a USB and monitor cable hnging out the back.

The Norton Truck

Seriously here, does this sort of thing work? A semi in a parking lot blasting music is one thing. When that semi is pushing antivirus and network security, I wonder if anyone will bite.

I'd check them out except I've already decided on AVG for our corporate Anti Virus. Norton is costly and bloated.

Car Sitting...

Something I've tken to doing while at lunch is going to the park. Often I won't even get out of my car. I've noticed that this is a very popular activity. It's funny though, if possible people always park in the shade. An entire parking lot may be empty except for the 10x20 shaded area.

Relic

I was cleaning out the garage and I came across this ancient PC. It doesn't even have a CD drive nor does it have a network card. It's got to be pretty ancient.
